Rita Labrador Retriever & Bull Terrier Mix Salt Lake City, UT

Rita is around 9 years old and a Lab/Bully mix. She came to the Animal Advocacy from a local shelter where she wasn’t adjusting well.

Rita is a quiet girl who likes to hang out with her people as much as possible. She is very sweet, funny and just well behaved. When Rita isn’t following her foster mom around you can find her sunbathing, one of her favorite things to do. Rita would prefer a quieter home with older children. She likes her treats and takes them gently.

Rita is doing well on her potty training and has been reliable in the house as long as she goes out 4 to 5 times a day. We are currently working on crate training. Around meal time, Rita is fed all her meals in her crate. She doesn’t go much on walks but is doing well on leash within the yard. Rita is a bit arthritic and we believe her preference is going in the car and she rides quietly. She is on medication to help her crickety bones and seems to be responding well to it.

Rita would prefer to be an only dog. The foster home has other dogs, but it's more tolerance than affection. Rita has never been left attended with other dogs.

Rita is a fabulous dog and such a sweet heart. She is looking for her forever home and hoping for her to find it soon.

Rita has been spayed, current on vaccinations, tested negative for heartworm and also micro chipped. She has had a dental, bloodwork and has had a chain of mammary tumors removed, (which were benign).

You can visit Rita at the Canyon Rim Petsmart (3191 E. 3300 S.) the first Saturday of every month from 11-4 pm. Then at the Petsmart in Salt Lake City, (389 W. 1830 S.) the second weekend of the every month from 11-4 pm.
