Meet Gravy

As of 10/19 Gravy will be at our Adoption Center. Please submit an application and then come by during open hours to meet him.

Gravy can be described as nothing but a sweet, gentle giant. This handsome boy is the PERFECT Dog. Gravy is roughly 1-2 years old and came to OTAT as a stray in early September. From the time of arrival into foster he has been nothing but super sweet, attentive and well behaved. He has learned sit, and paw very rapidly which leads us to believe that this big knuckle head, all 92 lbs of him is smart but at times a little slow. When out on walks he is responsive to commands, doesn’t usually pull unless he wants to sniff the base of a tree or mark a plant. He is not leash reactive to other dogs but they do peak his interest a bit but he usually settles after a few minutes and returns to sniffing everything!! He is not the fastest walker out there and due to his nature and size can only handle a block or two at at time on moderately warm days. One of his favorite activities is backyard play time. He plays fetch with a tennis ball and loves to bounce around the yard and from time to time play keep away. He definitely stays engaged with his playmate and will egg you on for more. When left alone we have noticed that he gets bored so hell need something to keep him occupied, like toys or bones!

Some days he can be SUPER LAZY and not really want to do much and then there are others where PUPPY Gravy springs into action and he needs to be exercised and tuckered out. Tuckering out this big lug doesn’t take that long just 15-20 minutes in the back yard or a brisk walk and he’s down for the count. His favorite toys we have noticed include nyla bones, rope toys and squeaky tennis balls. He has been introduced to kongs but can’t get his tongue into them and gives up after about 10 minutes. At bed time or when ever his fosters leave the house Gravy is crated and does well. He can be left for about 7-8 hours at a time before he needs to stretch and use the facilities.

If you're looking for a companion to snuggle on the couch, but also be able to do his own thing, Gravy is the dog for you.

Gravy is now neutered, vaccinated, heartworm tested, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300 and if interested our application can be accessed here:
