NOTE: I would like to speak a bit about the rescue movement. Over the years, I have realized that many are very specific, only wanting young, super cute, and nearly perfect. They are hoping to put in very little work; additionally, their complaint is that there is nothing out there but pits and Chihuahuas. They say they do not want to purchase a dog, and want to rescue, but at the same time, their expectation is more or less the same as if they purchased a dog nonetheless. Part of the rescue movement IS reaching out to the pit and Chihuahua mixes, the slightly older dogs, the senior dogs, and the black dogs. It is opening up your scope of love to the underdog, the dogs left behind, and not being so quick to discount the many dogs out there in desperate need for someone to love them, work with them a bit, and provide them with a loving home. Please keep this in mind as you search for your new canine companion, and as you read Agatha and Allie’s bio. Thank you!

Agatha (Aggie) and Allie are two sweet girls who were rescued from the Devore Animal Shelter. Allie was rescued first, but she was noticeably depressed and disconnected. The rescuer suspected there was a counterpart and went searching. It was discovered that her bonded “person,” was on a transport list to the State of Washington the very next day! (Further investigation revealed that they were lost from the same home and no one ever came looking for them.) We rushed to stop the transport and Agatha was reunited with Allie at Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue. When Allie saw Agatha again, Allie was very happy! Both dogs are very sweet and mostly quiet and mellow. Both dogs are cherubs and big tail wagers. Allie is more shy and timid, until she knows the person, looking to Aggie for confidence and security, while Aggie is more spunky and gregarious. Both dogs are around 7-8 lbs. Both dogs are good eaters (not picky) and love treats. Agatha is about age 5 and Allies is about age 2-3. This is still very young for small dogs.

Agatha (Aggie) is warm and enchanting in her personality. She wants to jump in your lap and be your friend. She is not like many Chihuahua types who only stick to one person. Her coat is mostly black, but with white markings. We are sad that many black dogs are discriminated against, even when they have darling personalities. Black is a very rich color and many great dog breeds are black. Also, when there are some white markings, the dog is mistaken to look “old” but please do not misunderstand; white markings does NOT mean gray hair or an old dog. Agatha is very young and full of spunk and her teeth are in great shape. She loves to follow me around, be held and cuddled, and gives kisses! We hope to find someone who will give her a chance and see what a great little pal she is!

Allie is very sweet too. She is SUPER cute with her tri-colored coat. She LOVES to cuddle with her dear sweet Aggie and be by her side as much as possible. She loves to follow me around too, and sneak in a kiss and sit near me as well. Allie’s teeth are also very good. One merely has to be more patient with her to allow her to build trust.

Both dogs are well crate-trained and sleep quietly throughout the night in their crates (here at the rescue, dogs are crated to eat, sleep, and if I have to leave the house for a bit). They both enjoy their food and a little rawhide stick at bedtime. They are doing pretty well with their housetraining, and with more repetition and reinforcement, should be stellar. Neither dog shows any destructive tendencies in the house, and in truth, they mostly just like to chill on a pet bed nearby in a main room or on a pet bed in the office while I work at the computer, occasionally running around and playing with each other, which is very cute to watch. They also share pet beds with the other dogs at the rescue, large and small.

The home we seek is one where people will embrace a bonded pair. They cannot and will not be split up nor will we allow them to be split up post adoption. I feel that they would be fine with cats with the proper introductions and adjustment. They both get along just fine with all the other dogs at the rescue. Both girls are spayed, fully vaccinated (including rabies), Front-lined, dewormed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in discussing this duo, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com. The phone number to the rescue is: 626-340-9316. There is no need to phone the rescue until you have first submitted an interest via e-mail. Please visit my website at: http://www.angelsheartdogrescue.com and go to the Adoption Tab to read about the adoption process and fees; thank you!
