Meet Jackie *ADOPTION PENDING*
Hi there! My name is Jackie (sometimes called Jack Jack, sometimes Jax, sometimes Baby Girl!). I came to Seattle from Las Vegas in search of a better life. Unfortunately shelters there don't care much for medical dogs, and won't do much to help. I have a teeny issue with food, but I'm gaining weight and you should see my gorgeous coat! Funny thing is, I'm a tiny girl (humble brag) and I only weigh 48 pounds so really, I don't even eat that much :)
THINGS I CAN DO:
run
jump
play with you
go for long walks on the beach
cuddle
cuddle more
still cuddling
mani/pedis (I love getting my nails done!)
house trained
crate trained
THINGS I CAN'T DO:
swallow
All I need to do is sit in a vertical "highchair", also called a Baliey Chair, twice a day for 20 minutes after my meals. I like my chair so much that sometimes I even fall asleep in it. While small dogs kind of freak me out, with slow introduction I can be ok with large dogs as long as they aren't too bossy. If you are interested in fostering me, or giving me a permanent home, please apply at www.northwestgermanshepherd.org.
(p.s. I'd love to sit on the couch and binge watch Game of Thrones with you.)
About Jackie's condition: Thankfully MegaEsophagus is manageable! Dogs with ME can live regular, full, happy lives! There is a ton of information out there on dogs with ME and lots of support groups of owners who have dogs with ME. Most people have probably not heard of this condition, yet it is more common than you would think, since the online megaesophasus support group has over 3,600 members. Gathering knowledge of this condition (from your vet, online resources, previous care of a dog with megasophagus, etc) will be critical to a successful adoption.
We are looking for a dedicated person to foster and/or adopt this baby.

As will all German Shepherds, knowledge of the breed will be a strong consideration for any applicant. ALL young German Shepherds need the proper training, socialization and leadership required for them to realize their potential and become the wonderful companions we hope for. If you are interested in adopting Jackie and providing a very special, loving, forever home, please go to http://www.northwestgermanshepherd.org and fill out an application. All dogs are altered, UTD on shots and micro-chipped prior to adoption.
