Dog Story:
Are you searching for the exuberance of an older, slowing down, Brittany who thinks he is young? Do you want to provide a forever home to a senior Brittany? If so, then Ari is the boy for you! He has all the unbridled enthusiasm of a young Britt wrapped up in a slightly graying face and 9 year old body.

Ari has been an outdoor dog and never learned basic obedience or good manners. He is just not used to the indoors. He still reacts to cats, dogs, doorbells, gunshots and other noises on the TV. He will still make his mark indoors so watch out for a wet spot. He can be a challenge, but in a short time he has started to listen more attentively. We are working on "off" as he is a counter-surfer and "wait" as he tends to bolt through the door and he has made progress in both areas. He knows "HAJDE" (“come” in Serbian) and sit with a hand signal, he will also do circles for treats, and he also knows "no". He is well-socialized and loves people. He also is getting along with his big and little sister Britts. He has been challenged by the alpha female and only gave a little growl but that was it. He gets agitated around large, young, overexcited male dogs. He has lived with kids, and dogs, and does well with both. Ari is one sweet, amiable Britt boy. He adores attention, is happy, loving, and has the exuberance of a typical Brittany. Such a very smart, loving boy will do best with a fenced yard to exercise those Brittany legs. Ari loves to explore the back yard, loves his walks and like a true Britt, tends to pull. Ari is not used to being on a leash and pulls hard, so a harness is recommended for walks. This boy needs be included in an active family’s day to day life. He craves and thrives on human companionship.

Transitioning a dog to life in a house requires patience. That combined with love is what Ari needs most. Despite his sometimes rambunctious behavior, from the first night here he has displayed a willingness to please and that wide-eyed adoration of the human who scratches his ears that all fans of this breed know and love. Ari deserves a chance at being loved, cuddled, appreciated and to hear the words "good dog". He is a lover who wants to know where his people are at all times, and sleeps on his bed right next to his people. Can you be the person that gives Ari that chance?

He is definitely a retired hunter so he is not bothered by fireworks but instead he is running around looking to fetch what was supposed to be shot. The same with thunder, no fear at all. Ari is a wonderful, sweet, affectionate, mature boy. This boy is the perfect example of "age is just a number". Even with a little bit of Arthritis in his back legs and the hint of cataracts in his eyes, he is in excellent shape for a nine year two month old dog. A tough old bird from Serbia. He loves his people and likes other calm dogs. The only thing Ari is worried about is being alone for too long. He needs either somebody who is at home most of the time or company of another dog. He is currently living with two other dogs in his foster home and can be left for a short time alone with them.

His list for a perfect home includes people to love him, lots of attention and some quality chill time. He really needs someone who is home a good portion of the day. He has shown some anxiety when left alone. His two female Britt housemates and the TV on make being home alone tolerable. He is looking for a forever home with parents who can give him all the love He deserves. In return, he will give you an ear to listen, a chin on your knee and unmeasured love.
