Tara Bella Miniature Schnauzer & Terrier Mix Franklin, MA

Happy fall! My name is Tara Bella. Guesstimated to be between 3-6 years old and weighing in at 18 lbs, I am the perfect size for apartment living. When I was taken in by Broken Tail Rescue, I was not well. After a medical evaluation it was determined that I had meningitis. I am on daily medication now. I take my pills well. In fact, I love to eat so those pills are just another snack to me if you roll them up in something tasty. My gait is a little awkward due to neurological damage but I get around fine. I balance really nicely on my hind legs to do a happy dance and ask for pats.

When I meet new people, I can be a little nervous. I bark loudly and sound ferocious but give me a few minutes to sniff and I am ready to be friends. I get along with people of all ages, sizes and gender. Favorite activities for me are riding in the car, going for walks, playing with my stuffed toys and snuggling on the couch. I get along with other dogs but at meal time it is probably best to give us each our own space. As I said, I really like food and if I finish my meal before my doggie pal, I sometimes growl and try to scare them away so I can have their food too. I love to hang around while you are cooking but I will not bother you while you eat.
Housetrained, spayed, microchipped and up to date on all vaccines, I am ready to find my forever family. The cold weather is on the way. Now is the time to add a snuggle buddy, lap warmer to your home. Please apply to adopt me today!

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
