Meet Gordo
Age: 8 years old
Sex: Male
Size: 16 pounds
Adoption fee: $300
Color: Red and White
**We would love to talk to you about Gordo or any of our other available dogs but we first need everyone to go to our website and submit an adoption application.
Gordo’s Story: Gordo and his siblings were surrendered to JCCARE by their owner who could no longer take care of them. Gordo’s owner wanted the best for him and knew JCCARE would go to great lengths to find him a loving forever home.
Health: Gordo is a healthy boy, he’s up to date on all vaccinations, neutered, and recently had a dental. He loves his food and treats and has a great appetite but needs a family who will manage his weight and not allow him to add additional pounds.
Temperament: Gordo is a sweet boy who can be a bit shy at first but loves playing with his foster mother’s herd and warms quickly to people.
My Ideal Home: Gordo is a sweet and funny boy who loves people and would do well in a home with one or more additional dogs, but has not been tested with cats. Gordo is a couch potato and loves to be up on the couch watching over the other dogs, he loves to be petted for as long as you will and preferably on the couch! He gets the zoomies and will run with the other dogs, finally ending up on the couch looking for more love. He is not really wild about being outside unless there is someone to bark at or people to play with. Gordo has been recently clipped short but when grown out has a beautiful long coat. A home without children younger than 10 years old is preferred.
Adoption Process: To adopt a Chin from JCCARE, start by filling out the application found on our website at www.japanesechinrescue.org. The application is under the Forms menu.
If you aren’t ready to adopt yet but would like to help this dog, please click on the purple SPONSOR ME button above the name. Your donation will help us to pay for the care of this dog until he/she finds a forever home.
JCCARE also maintains the lives of many senior and special needs Chin in our “Sanctuary” program. These dogs are not listed on Petfinder, as their health issues make them unlikely to ever be adopted. If you are a lover of the breed, could you please consider sponsoring one of our seniors? You can find their pictures and stories under OUR CHIN on our web site: www.japanesechinrescue.org
