Hey there. My name is Bert and just turned a year old. I came from a very rural shelter when I was only about 8 weeks old. No one knows what happened to my mama but at least I was safe inside a shelter rather than outside where I could've been hurt or even died alone. My foster mom saw my picture put out to rescues by a volunteer at the shelter and she fell in love so she called her friend and the rest is history. I'm crate and house trained and as soon as mom opens my crate door, I run to the kitchen door to go outside. . I can open the kitchen just by bumping my head against it.. and off I go. I get along great with all my foster brothers and sisters, from small to extra extra large and I love to run around with my friends and chew on sticks. Mom's volunteers at Pet Smart, where I go most Saturdays in hopes of finding my forever home, taught me how to walk on a leash and I do really well. When I go for a walk on a leash, if I have to "go", I'll stop and do "it". lol And Miss Emily, who walks me and teaches me things, will give me a yummy treat and tell me what a good boy I am!! I'm very good in my crate and never bark so that's a good thing. I'm a very sweet, lovable boy but I can be a little shy sometimes but mom and Miss Emily are helping me not be shy any more.
