Miss Pogo Louise Rabbit Lop Eared Appleton, WI

Miss Pogo Louise has not had an easy life so far, but this mini lop lady is one of the sweetest souls we have ever had the pleasure to meet!

MPL was abandoned at a Petco in Illinois right across the Wisconsin border with what appeared to be a very broken leg! She was brought to the shelter facility which is the contracted stray hold for that area (actually in WI!). They are not very experienced with rabbits and definitely not comfortable dealing with medical needs and so MPL was transferred to us.

Her leg injury must’ve occurred earlier in her life as the bones had already entirely fused. The break was significant and her femur was catastrophically shattered. How this happened and how this lady lived through that level of injury is a mystery but we are so happy that she survived. Her leg does stick out a bit funny so her hop is a bit crooked, however she is not in any pain and it does not hinder her one bit.

MPL was adopted but unfortunately returned due to allergies. While she was in that home she developed a cataract in one eye and a lump on her dewlap! The lump was surgically removed and analyzed and diagnosed as cancerous. The type of cancer is locally invasive but not typically invasive systemically. The lump re-growing in that same area is a slim possibility, but the chances of it having spread further is very low. She had a full body x-ray completed and no other areas of concern were identified. (X-rays and histo report will be shared with her adopters)

MPL has an amazing personality, she would excel as a therapy bun and is loving, sweet, very social and outgoing. We estimate her age to be 8+. She is spayed, excellent with her litterbox, likes toys, enjoys foods of all kinds and would be a great addition to any home.

She had a full check-up and is looking great! Her forever home will need to continue a regular physical exam schedule, no different than any other senior bunny, to make sure there are no un-expected lumps or bumps and her heart and lungs sound strong and healthy!

We know that it will take a very special family to look beyond her physical imperfections, but Miss Pogo Louise is perfect in every other way and deserves a FOREVER home
