About

Health
Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. Will update his annual physical exam & vaccines prior to adoption. He MUST be strictly indoor only. Has minor vision issues, probably mainly depth perception related, is partially deaf, and FIV positive (he is NOT sick. this only means he has been exposed to the active live virus at some point in his past -- either through fighting before neutered via deep bite puncture wounds, by mating, or even by being previously FIV vaccinated -- in the case of FIV, feline immunodeficiency virus, the vaccine will unfortunately always yield positive test results in the future!) FIV positive cats can live a normal, long life span as long as kept indoors and having regular annual veterinary exams, etc. They can also live in multi-cat households without passing the virus on to other cats as long as there is no aggressive fighting with bite wounds. Sharing water and food dishes or litter boxes is not a concern for spread as long as all cats are healthy. You must, of course, keep all water, food, and litter boxes cleaned daily. .

Meet Bruiser (now Gunar)

This handsome blue-eyed, white short-haired, manx/bobtail neutered male needs a home where household is stable routine mature adults, not chaotic with lots of in and out visitors, etc. He is an adult near senior in good general health, loves to "talk" and be close to you.

He earned the name Brusier over the years where he somehow managed to survive the neighborhood outside with the help of a caring female homeowner in the area. He is partially deaf, may have some minor depth perception vision issues, and it is a miracle he has not been killed before now trying to survive outside for who knows how long before he got some help from a kindly animal/cat-friendly lady in the rural neighborhood. Once befriended, he didn't even want to stray from her fenced yard or porch anymore. He sat with her in the porch swing and wanted to be a lap kitty with an easy life for his golden years. He very obviously wanted to go in her house, but she would not let him in because he had sometimes been jealous/aggressive toward her other cats and protective/aggressive regarding his food or "his" human companion(s).

On the other hand, at the Feline Felicity rescue household, he has pretty much ignored the other cats, and not behaved negatively in any form or fashion, even when one of the males started hissing at him - Bruiser just ignored it. He has even shown that he can get along fine with dogs as long as they are cat-experienced, cat-friendly & safe, and not too hyper/annoying to him.

He was adopted once by a mature single woman, but her living situation very suddenly & unexpectedly changed soon thereafter. She had to move in to help someone else and that someone would not allow the cat to move in as well.

Then he was adopted by a nice woman and her young adult daughter who already had a 6 month old pomeranian mixed dog. Turns out that Bruiser and the pup became good friends, sometimes playing together and sleeping side by side. Other times they went about their own business & ignored each other. Things were great for about a year, but then they contacted Feline Felicity to pick up Bruiser as the young adult daughter had become pregnant and moved into an apartment that does not allow pets.

So, here the sweet boy is again, waiting for his true home where he will be cherished forever as a family member and always treated like a priority in life, ... as it should be with all pets. Hopefully, third time will be charm for Bruiser.

Anyway, he needs a mature adults, stable, indoor only home where he will be the only pet/cat or with other cats who are very laid back and accepting of newcomers and/or docile dogs who think of cats as their friends. Hopefully, someone will give him a chance. (recommend no young children or inexperienced with cats people due to his once wild/feral/survival-of-the-fittest background)
