8/2/2017: This cute little gremlin-looking guy is Gage! Gage is a 5 year old Shih Tzu. He’s a great little dog and he’s friendly and pretty laid back. He loves toys and he fetches and carries toys around in his mouth. It’s pretty cute! He likes cats and other dogs, but doesn’t really like when other dogs get in his face too much. If you have a dog you could bring your dog in to meet Gage to see if they could be friends. He'd be fine with older kids but not a good match for small kids. Gage seems to be house trained and will whine when he has to go out. He’s very food motivated.

Gage is being treated for allergies.  He is missing some hair but is already improving on a few antibiotics, anti-itch meds, medicated baths & special food (Science Diet z/d). Our vets can give you more info about his skin issues and the estimated cost of his long term medications and food. Gage is very food motivated and eagerly sits for his special treats.

Gage has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and tested for heartworms. He weighs 15 lbs. He hasn’t been in his foster home long, so we’ll know more about his house habits once he’s been there a bit longer. Gage was loved in his former home but his person was not in a position to care for his allergies properly.

> Our goal is to send you home with a healthy pet and any information and support you may need to help your new pet adjust to his or her new home. All of our dogs & puppies have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, treated for fleas & ticks, tested for heartworms (7 mo. and over), and are on monthly heartworm preventative. Puppies who are too young to receive all the necessary puppy boosters and/or first rabies shot may be brought back to us for those vaccines at no extra charge. You will also receive a leash, collar, coupons for pet supplies and services, toys, and educational materials. And we'll give your dog a bath before he or she goes home!

> Please note that we prefer and may require a fenced yard for many of our dogs. Exceptions are made on an individual basis depending on the dog's needs, the person's dog experience, the dog's and person's activity levels, home environment and other factors.

> An application is required to adopt a pet and applicants must meet our adoption requirements. If you decide you'd like to adopt one of our dogs, we reserve the pet for you but we generally don't send the dog home with you that same day.
