Buddy Airedale Terrier & Poodle Mix San Miguel De Allende, GUA

Buddy is an Airedoodle! He has the characteristics of both breeds (Airedale and Poodle) – intelligent, loyal, curious, energetic, playful, and people-loving! He came to the S.P.A. on December 4, 2014 when he was about 6 years old. He had been part of a family his whole life and then the owner moved to an apartment – too small for Buddy! He is an ideal family pet, but we’ve now learned that he would do best as the only dog in the family and he needs ready access to the outside. Also, no cats for sure. His favorite toy is a deflated soccer ball!

Buddy is a very sweet and affectionate dog. He is large and strong He needs a halter when being walked because he was diagnosed with Wobbler's syndrome a few years ago. When we first noted his symptoms then, he was successfully treated with oral cortisone and we stopped using a collar with him. His symptoms were mild and have not recurred. He hasn't been on any medication for Wobbler's in a long time. The only reason he is listed as "special needs" is because of this prior incident. The only current care required is that a harness is used and not a collar - in an abundance of caution.

He does not shed, but does need periodic clipping, He loves people and needs a good amount of space for exercise or some long walks. He knows several commands including "sit," "by me," and "leave it." He is a favorite of some of our volunteers and deserves to live out his life in a loving home!

The adoption fee is $100 USD which includes the health certificate necessary to bring the dog from Mexico to the U.S.A, sterilization, current vaccinations, deworming, and a through checkup by our veterinarian prior to departure.
