Edison Terrier Mix Buffalo, NY

Edison is a young bully breed mix who came to the shelter as a stray and was never claimed. We think he's about 10-12 months old and 40-45 lbs. Edison is an extra special pup because he is deaf. As daunting as that sounds, with the right tools and proper guidance, training is not difficult. Edison has been working on developing his obedience and leash skills with a professional trainer using a vibration collar. As part of his adoption, Edison is sponsored with a few training sessions with his trainer so that his new family may also be armed with the skills and confidence to communicate and provide leadership for Edison. Edison is a world class snuggler! He has spent many an afternoon at adoption events encased in the arms of a volunteer. While Edison has been friendly with the dogs he has met so far, he has a very high energy play style that might be too overwhelming for some dogs. We always require a meet and greet with any resident dogs to make sure everyone wants to be friends. We are recommending a home without small children due to Edison's jumping and tendency toward mouthiness. He also displayed some minor food guarding during his temperament evaluation that should be monitored by his new family. Little Edison is really a diamond in the rough waiting for a loving family to give him the time and energy he deserves.
