Meet Hank

Often we hear stories of just awful situations that dogs are living in before making their way to STAF. We are always amazed at their forgiveness and how open and ready they are for the next chapter of their lives. Hank is one of those dogs.

Hank was blessed with a guardian angel who found Hank in the woods behind a nursing home, tied to a very heavy barrel. Hank couldn't move. Hank was very thin and weak and probably hadn’t had any food or water for days. When Hank’s angel found him, Hank immediately started to wag his tail and she could tell that Hank was happy and relieved that he was safe.

Hank’s angel took him home and then took him to the vet and helped Hank gain weight, get his bearings and made sure Hank was healthy before coming to STAF.

Sweet Hank is a happy-go-lucky boy who loves to be walked and play with his toys. Hank has energy to burn and will do well in a home that will give him a lot of walking each day or perhaps a fenced yard in romp in. Hank is such a happy guy without a mean bone in his body. Hard to imagine after all he has been through. Hank does well with other dogs and since arriving at STAF has been going to doggie daycare. However, Hank will either need a family with a privacy fence or a family that is committed to leash walking Hank for exercise. Sweet Hank is quite the athlete and can make it over a chain link/covered split rail in seconds flat :(. Hank loves to be cuddled by his STAF people as much as he loves to lounge in the sun. We love Hank’s half-full attitude and the joy he finds in every day. Hank could teach us all a lesson or two.

Hank’s estimated birth date in June 2016

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
You must complete an application at the shelter prior to meeting any of our animals. (Sorry--our application is not available on-line or via email.)
We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.
We require a fenced yard (sorry--no invisible fences) for homes with children under age 11.
We do request vet and personal references.
