Life was going pretty well for Mojo. He had a family that loved him. He lived in a comfortable home and had all of the things a middle aged Beagle boy needs. Sadly, things changed drastically when his family situation changed and they could no longer give him the care he deserves.

Mojo was brought into the care of HART and has been charming his foster family daily. He wants nothing more than to please his new family and cries a little when they leave the house without him. His foster mom says "We love his excitement to see us when we get home - running in circles and to each one of us for a personal greeting. When we are home, he likes to be close to us. He's not demanding for attention, but always happy to receive it." He has free reign of the house when the family is out and hasn't been destructive or had any accidents.

Mojo loooves food and will enthusiastically sit and shake a paw for a little treat. His hearing may be going a little...but he is very responsive to hand gesture commands. He is always ready for a car ride and is the first one in when the car door opens.

Mojo is fine with older children. There is a 7 year old and a 9 year old in his foster home and they are the best of friends. He loves to cuddle them and will sleep with them if he's allowed. He would fit right in with a family with older children. He is happy to meet other dogs on his walks but can become a little annoyed if he's pestered by a youngster with no manners. He'll give a warning bark to put them in their place and the go about his merry way. He would be well suited to living with another dog or just fine on his own.

Mojo had a little weight to lose when he came into our care but his foster family is diligent about his walks and diet and he's slimming down quite nicely. Like any true Beagle, walks with Mojo can involve a little pulling on the leash and many interruptions to stop and sniff exciting smells! Because of this hound nature, a fully fenced and secure yard is a must for Mojo.

Mojo is a charmer. His foster family howls with laughter when he sits on the couch like a humam - bum and legs on the cushion and front legs on the arm of the couch. He's a pretty chill and relaxed boy who still has plenty of energy to play. He's an amazing jumper and uses this super power to jump on the beds and will even try to catch mosquitoes in the air!

An adoption donation of $350 applies and a fenced yard is required. Mojo is neutered, up to date with his vaccines, heartworm tested negative, microchipped and in good health. He also comes with one month of free pet insurance. He is approximately 9 years old and weighed 45 lbs on intake but is slowly but surely trimming down.
