Meet Pink Girl

UPDATE June 30-17: This pup has a home visit being scheduled for a potential family.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I know, I know...she's outrageously cute and you think you're in love. We hope you are -- we are too! In fact, HART loves this sweetheart so much that we're working extra hard to ensure she goes to the very best home; a home that has the time, energy and finances to care for and raise a giant breed puppy.

If you are interested in adopting this puppy, we encourage you to read the following carefully as only individuals (that's you) who follow the HART adoption process will be considered for adoption. We try hard to cover all relevant details about the pup in this posting. Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to respond to emails and phone calls with questions already addressed here. It is not possible to meet the puppy before a completed application has been received by us and screening has been successful. Applications that don't meet the basic requirements will not be responded to.

If you want to be considered for this pup you need to submit an application. Do not simply send us a message telling us about yourself from the "Ask about Me" button link found on this Petfinder bio; we will not respond. You need to go here to read about our screening process and download the application: http://www.hartdogrescue.ca/adopt. Please take the time - this gorgeous little pupper is worth it!

A litter of 7 was born April 5, 2017 and will be ready to join approved families June 7th. They came into HART's care at 2 days old, without their mother, and were bottle fed and raised by one of HART's most qualified fosters. They have been introduced to a variety of people and friendly dogs and a couple of dog savvy cats. They are happy and healthy and rapidly gaining weight. At 8 weeks of age this girl weighed 13 lbs and is expected to reach an adult weight of between 60 and 80 lbs. She is the smallest of the litter and also the most animated and active.

The mother is a pure Bernese Mountain Dog and their father was unknown. We got a Wisdom Panel DNA test done and they results are 50% Bernese Mountain Dog, 25% Treeing Walker Coonhound, 12.5% German Shepherd and 12.5% mixed breeds (Hound & Terrier). A real mixed bag! The pup needs to go to a home where she will be alone for no more than a total of 3 hours per day. Raising a puppy is hugely rewarding but takes much time and energy. As such, families with small children aren't suited. It's important that all family members are mature enough to play an active and consistent role in the training and raising of a puppy. This pup will require a home with a generously sized, fully fenced property. Giant breed puppies are not suitable to apartment living. Obedience classes are a must for giant breed puppies. It is helpful if you outline your training plans in your application.

Pups are chewing monsters. And be prepared for shedding and drooling. Managed properly, this gorgeous girl will grow into a lovely, friendly but messy family member!

Due to border regulations, US adopters cannot be considered. Please don't ask us to make an exception for you. We will not.

An adoption donation of $400 will apply, plus a refundable $250 spay/neuter security deposit which will be reimbursed once the pup is altered at the appropriate age (18-24 months for giant breeds) as per our spay/neuter contract. She has been dewormed, microchipped and will have received a full vet check and her first vaccine before adoption day.
