Meet Phinn
Hi there! I'm Phinn! I'm a 6 1/2 year old Shepherd/Husky mix who is looking for my forever home! I weigh 50 lbs of love.
I am very happy, healthy, smart, well mannered, and loyal. I am also a very good watch dog that barks for a few seconds when I hear footsteps coming to the door. I love being a companion to my people...in the house, outside or in the car.
I'd do best in a home without another dog, or possibly with a female dog that is not an alpha-dog like me. I have lived with cats and can co-exist. In my current foster home, there are three cats. I get along fine with one and we share a pillow, but the other two run when they see me, which makes me want to chase them. But a dog savvy cat could be my best friend!
I am very good with kids and have lived with several throughout my life. I love to play and cuddle with the teenagers in my current foster home.
I love to play, walk, run and hang out as much as possible near my people. I walk very well on a leash. When I see a squirrel, deer or wild turkey, I get very excited and try to chase them. It takes a strong person to hold onto my leash sometimes but I'm very good at responding to my name.
I would love to be able to run around more where I'll be safe from cars or aggressive dogs, such as in a fenced yard or on a farm. I like swimming, boating, hiking, and will play fetch.
I'm crate trained but haven't needed it at all in my foster home. I don't chew, bark or scratch when I'm home alone. When my people come home, I get super-excited and want to be with them, sometimes following them from room to room. It could be that I want to make sure they won't leave me for too long. I sometimes get scared at loud noises... fire works, sirens and thunderstorms can make me nervous.
Could you be the one to give me the love, steady companionship and exercise that I need?
