Age: 2 years old

Aussidedoodle (Australuan Shepherd/Standard Poodle) with a cropped tail

Weight: 50 lbs

Fence Requirement: a physically fenced yard with room for Beryl to burn off his energy will be required. No e-fences will be considered.

Coat type: no to low shed. Will need grooming every 8 weeks or so.

Energy level: HIGH; he needs every day consistent mental and physical exercise or will be bored and that is not ideal

Dogs: Yes

Cats: untested, we expect he will chase them; not sure what he'll do if he catches up to a cat

Kids: we'd prefer kids 12 and older due to his high energy

Requirements:
1. Another dog in the home that loves to play and is similar in size or larger than Beryl.
2. Someone that understand Australian Shepherds and is willing and able to keep him physically and mentally stimulated.

From Beryl's foster family:

Beryl is a really sweet boy! He is eager to please and loves to be with his people. He will come up and lay his head on your lap when he wants attention. He is past all of the puppy jumping and mouthing and has excellent manners. He is really well house trained and knows his basic commands.

He is an Aussiedoodle, so he loves to chase squirrels, lizards, etc. His previous family groomed him themselves and he stands perfectly still and is super patient for brushing and grooming.

His coloring is beautiful -- it is silver where his hair is shortest, almost frosted looking where his hair is medium length, and chocolate when allowed to grow out.

Beryl loves other dogs and to play with them endlessly. Having an outlet for his energy makes it easier for him to settle down in the house. If he has not had enough exercise, he will pace, and bark at things he sees out the windows. As long as he's had a chance to run and burn off some energy, he settles beautifully inside, and he's a wonderful companion.

He is a little bit leash reactive when he greets other dogs or people while held back and restrained on leash. It's all excitement and he just wants to go say hello. If you go right over to the dog or person, he wags his whole body and wants to be loved on. If you try to hold him back, he will bark at them. We have been working a bit on this with holding his focus, and impulse control, but just something for new parents to know :)

We have so enjoyed having him to foster and we are looking forward to meeting his new family.
