Meet Billy Kostecki- ADOPTED!

NAME: Billy Kostecki
Part of the "Dirty Dancing" litter.
Mother is "Penny Johnson", 8 lbs. Father unknown.
READY TO GO HOME: Now!
AGE/GENDER: Baby (born 12/26/2016), Male
BREED: Terrier, Mix
TEMPERAMENT: Loving, Playful, Mellow
WEIGHT: 11.2 lbs and growing, 14 inches tall at the shoulder.
HOUSE TRAINING: : Doing extremely well! He has only had a couple of accidents in the house and is now starting to wait by the door when he needs to go out. Once outside, he understands he is supposed to go. Puppies should not be considered reliable in regard to housetraining until 6-12 months of age. They're a lot like toddlers, who require diapers!
CRATE TRAINING: Fantastic! He knows to go in on the command ‘kennel’ and once inside is perfectly content. He does not cry or protest being in his crate. He actually loves to be in his crate and often chooses to go in on his own to take naps and play with his toys alone.
OTHER DOGS: Good! He loves to play, snuggle, and follow other dogs around. He does take a little time to become comfortable with larger dogs, but once he is, loves to chase and play with them.
CATS: Good! Continued socialization will be important!
CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older
ADOPTION DONATION: $450
HEALTH: Billy is healthy! Prior to adoption, puppies will be altered, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with 30 days of free pet insurance provided by Shelter Care.

HISTORY: J ohnny and his family came to us from a hoarding situation with over 40 dogs in the home . Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find him a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!

NOTES FROM NAME'S FOSTER HOME: Billy is a fun-loving, playful pup who also values his snuggle time. He loves to be held and pet and enjoys a cozy afternoon nestling in a blanket by the fire, but also loves to play. He likes to run around and play chase. Billy loves being outside especially basking in the sunshine. He likes to jump up on a lounge chair with you and soak in the rays. Billy really loves to play with his toys. He loves to roll around and pounce at his toys and sometimes even accidentally throws them into the air! Billy’s current favorite toy is his Nylabone. He could chew on that thing forever. He loves to play with his stuffed toys as well. He really likes when you drag the stuffed toys across the floor in front of him so he can jump at them. Billy also likes to chase after tennis balls, but is still learning to bring them back so they can be rolled across the floor again. He can easily busy himself with his toys by chewing and carrying them around. Billy is one smart little cookie. He is learning to sit and high-five. He is also learning how to walk well on a leash and is doing very well! He is also working on his manners such as not jumping up on people he meets. Overall, Billy is a very calm and relatively quiet puppy. He does occasionally bark, but is usually pretty quiet. He doesn’t bark at night when he is in his crate or even when he is in his crate with people in the room. Billy is a very easy going puppy who is happy to go on walks or cuddle inside.

All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.

Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet!

Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!
