Colton Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix Cincinnati, OH

Oh what a happy boy! Even after being dumped in an overnight pen at one of STAF’s county shelter partners with nothing but a short note, lovable Colton loves life and always sees his glass has half full. He is charming and his constant smile is contagious:)

This good-natured chap is a yellow-lab mix and right around 10 months old. Colton is very engaging and he hasn’t met a stranger. At a recent STAF event this boy was the center of attention with every dog or person that passed by. And boy does Colton LOVE attention!

Colton has many playmates at STAF and although he will need some pointers on best leash practices, Colton does love taking long walks as well. Colton does enjoy to comfy-cozy, however he will most likely not be a fit for those looking for a lazy, lap dog who lives for his weekend walks:) Being young and being a lab-mix this boy has a lot of energy to burn and will do best in a home that will be able to assist Colton in his daily energy exhaustion.

The volunteers love Colton and here's what one had to say after an outing with this sweet boy: "Colton is so much fun! He was so excited to go to the park and he was very well behaved. Colton jogged to the park with me - no pulling and he prances when he is happy! He would look up at me periodically to check in and when I would kneel down to say hi he is all snuggles. He greeted everyone we passed at the park with tail wags and affection, but was not hyper or hard to manage. He was really easy to be with and just loves having a buddy around. He loves people and was interested in meeting all the dogs we passed as well. Colton is handsome and gentle and sweet. An absolute pleasure to be around!"

Silly cute, good-natured and a gentle soul, when looking to add to your family, there really is not much more one could ask for.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots.
You must complete an application at the shelter prior to meeting any of our animals. (Sorry--our application is not available on-line or via email.)
We do not do same-day adoptions; we ask that you return for a follow-up visit before taking an animal home.
We require a fenced yard (sorry--no invisible fences) for homes with children under age 11.
We do request vet and personal references.
At this time, we are only able to consider applicants within 150 miles of Cincinnati.
