UPDATE ON MATEO FROM BBBR VOLUNTEER KERRY

Kerry says: Good morning! I am sitting here in the sun with Mateo. He is a sweet dog. As we came out of the kennel he was very excited and willing to walk, by the time we got to the elementary school he had hit the brakes and wouldn't go any further and kept looking back. He is easily redirected, we crossed Emerald into the industrial park, which is where we sit now. But he seems very worried, of any noise around him. Very hesitant to walk. Stopping to stare at people walking by. So we are just sitting in the grass enjoying each other's company right now.
I will update you again if needed. He is precious!!

Hi everyone, here is my write up on Mateo!!!
Moe’uhane lilo which means dream dog!
He was brought up to the front desk at Emerald Street Kennels and there was another dog coming in and Mateo was completely chill! We went out the door and he kind of look at me like, “why is it cold here” lol Mateo did not pull once! He is a very calm dog! We continued on our walk and came across a dog that charged the chainlink fence and Mateo didn’t react at all. We came upon another dog that was behind another chainlink fence and she was barking and running up and down the fence and again, Mateo did nothing! He did not react to birds, goats, alpaca’s cows and even squirrels! He did however find out where I keep my treats! He is pretty low key! He does enjoy his walks and sniffing things along the way. When you stop, he stops. He loves a good petting and is not big on kisses! When I tried to get him to sit so I could take some pictures he wouldn’t sit or stay because he just wants to be close to you! He takes treats very gently! He is very attentive to what you are doing and will follow you anywhere! What a love bug! I don’t think he will be here long!!!
He arrived to Boise from Kauai Humane Society. Volunteer Carla says: Our sweet Mateo had a good morning before he left today. He was a perfect gentlemen at the airport.

There are those moments that really make your heart sing and sending this guy off to Boise Bully Breed Rescue was one of those moments. Mateo you are such a special pup who deserves a great life. Better things are coming your way buddy. Mateo knows how to sit and walks well on a leash (the shelter uses easy walk harnesses with leash attached in front to harness and martingale collar) He is good with children. He is 3 years old and gets along with most dogs.
