This strikingly handsome 2-year old guy has the BIGGEST heart. He wants to please his humans and thrives on routine. He had a couple potty accidents his first couple days, but once he knew his schedule and routine he has been accident free! He has little interest in soft or squeaky toys, but give him a peanut butter/treat filled kong and he will be entertained until every crumb of food is licked up. He also loves chomping down on bones. He is very treat motivated and will sit like a statue once he sees a treat. He takes treats VERY gently. He also knows Paw, Lie Down, No, Come, Off, and Wait, (he’s very good at waiting for you to say OK once you drop his food.

At about 70 lbs, Capi is underweight and we are working at getting some meat on his bones. He came from a hoarding situation so consistent meals and attention are all new to him! He LOVES to eat, so I would recommend a slow feeder for him. That way he doesn’t eat too quickly and gets indigestion; though he loves mealtime, he doesn't beg or have any bad habits in regards to food.

As if his inside manners weren’t good enough he also has perfect manners outside. He walks wonderfully, but I do recommend a harness as he is strong. The only time he pulls is when he wants to reach a smelly patch. He greets dogs very politely on and off his leash. He doesn’t have a super playful manner and will usually just watch other dogs play but will try to get into the mix (I think he just needs more time and confidence to figure out how to play). He is also cat friendly.

When Capi first joined us he had major separation anxiety, but that has greatly diminished in his foster home. To err on the side of caution, we're still looking for an adopter that isn't gone traditional work hours and can spend lots of time with Capi, but we are hoping his progress with his anxiety is here to stay.

When you're home, Capi couldn't be more perfect; he would spend all day sleeping on the couch next to you if he could. He is a fast learner in correcting any behavior you find unfit, though that might be difficult! He will pancake himself on the ground when he’s in trouble and give you his eyes, but won’t stop loving you!
