Pooka Poodle Mix Itasca, IL

Hi there, future family! My name is Pooka and if you are looking for a snuggly, little couch potato who loves nothing more than curling up with a good blanket and her favorite people, you are in luck because I am available for adoption through Fetching Tails Foundation! I am 7 years young, and have a chill, relaxed demeanor that I am told appeals to lots of adopters! I have lots of life left to enjoy, but I am out of that hyper and energetic puppy/young dog stage and love to settle in for snuggles and love. I am a little girl, weighing in at about 8 pounds, so I will fit perfectly onto your lap for Netflix and chill time!

I was saved from Chicago Animal Care & Control, where my previous owner brought me when they no longer wanted me. I had to have a bit of eye surgery because I had a cherry eye, but now that it is healing up, I am ready and excited to find my true forever home! Don't get me wrong, I am having a great time in my foster home, but it will be amazing when I hear my humans say “You are my girl forever!” My favorite activities in my foster home include eating my favorite yummy foods and treats, and taking naps with my foster mommy, especially when I can curl up under a blanket. If foster mommy can't find me, she checks under the covers in her bed and I am usually there in my Pooka-made nest. I also live with another small dog and a cat, and I get along fine with them; in fact, I mostly just ignore them since I am so zen and love to relax.

I have great house manners, too, and will make an excellent roommate. I am quiet and tidy, and also potty trained. I don't need to be crated since I just find my favorite spot to nap and curl up under a blanket when foster mommy leaves the house. She is retired, so I am not left alone for very long, but I imagine I would do fine if you need to leave the house for longer periods of time because of work or other adulting responsibilities. Although I don't currently live with kiddos, I get along great with humans of all ages and am always very gentle and sweet when younger people visit with me at the adoption shows. More than anything, I want a forever home where I will feel relaxed and loved for the rest of my life.

Adoption Requirements:
Be at least 21 years of age
Have the knowledge and agreement of all adults living in the household
Have approval from owner of residence (written in lease)
Have a valid ID with current address
Be approved as a suitable adoptive home by Fetching Tails Foundation
Be prepared to make a lifetime commitment
Lives in 50 mile radius of Itasca within the Illinois border

Adoption Fees: Senior dog - 8 years and up, $75
Adult or young dog - 6 months to 7 years, $250
Puppies - under 6 months, $350
