Sweet Cami Deserves a Fresh Start and Lots of Love

2-year-old, female, medium, black-and-tan, German Shepherd
Good with other dogs: Yes

You’ve seen it on the news: animal hoarders. Well, poor Cami was a victim of a horrible hoarding situation, but we want to give Cami a fresh start to make up for all she’s been through in her short life. She was pretty sick with pneumonia recently, but is recovering nicely in a wonderful foster home. And Cami does have Valley Fever, which is common in the Southwestern United States. But her case is pretty mild, so she’s got a bright future ahead of her.

Cami is lucky enough to be in foster with one of our wonderful volunteers who reports that she is a very sweet girl with lots of potential. She’s had a rough go of it, so it’s taking her a little while to come out of her shell. But she’s making quick progress! She loves her daily walks and is good on a leash. She hasn’t quite figured out that whole cuddling thing yet, but she now lets her foster mom give her pets, which is a big improvement in a short amount of time for this girl. She was left outside in her previous life and got no attention at all. But she’s starting to enjoy the coziness of being indoors with a real family!

She enjoys hanging out with the other dogs — and doesn’t even mind the cats — in her foster home. She hasn’t figured out how to play with toys yet, but she’s getting there, with some help from her foster fur brother. She goes willingly in her crate and can even be left free to roam the house alone without causing any problems. She loves people, just needs to learn to trust them a little more. Her foster mom said Cami is a very easy girl to love and causes no problems at all. And she thinks that with patience from a loving family, she’ll be a cuddler in no time. And get this, she loves to play in the baby pool, how cute is that?

If you can give Cami a new start, please fill out our online application to get the approval process started. We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. All staff members are volunteers and are not compensated for their time and expenses. Many juggle family and full-time careers while volunteering at Saving Paws. Please be patient, as sometimes it takes up to 5 days to process an application.
