Meet Margot

Margot is at our Adoption Center, located at 2144 N Wood St. Please fill out an application and then come see her during our open hours!

This little 3-4 year old is a super special girl who has quickly wormed her way into the hearts of many. She's small (17 lbs) and is either a very petite girl. Prior to joining the shelter that we rescued her from, Margot was hit by a car which (though she has a great quality of life) has resulted in some spine/gait issues--please read on to learn more!

Likes:
--Resting her head on your lap while you talk to her and scratch her long, velvety ears
--Belly rubs
--All food and treats
--Naps and major, major snuggles on the couch
--Walks, sniffing everything there is to sniff outside
--Babies (she shares her foster home with one of the cutest ones ever!)
--Nesting in a pile of clothes
--Chasing tennis balls
--Other dogs; she shares her foster home with one and would do great with one in an adoptive home too!

Needs some work warming up to:
--Crate and also being left alone. She will howl (hey she's a Beagle!) when left alone, so she's looking for a family that is home often, or someone who can work on the separation anxiety.
-Men. She is timid with men, but hasn't shown any signs of aggression. She just feels safer with women.
-Loud noises. She gets spooked easily, but comes around as well. She's a resilient gal!

As far as her spine/hind leg issues, they are worse when she is scared or nervous as she tends to go a bit rigid in those situations. Once she's settled, you hardly see any trace of it. She may need pain management medications younger than your average dog, but is totally thriving now.

Margot is now vaccinated, heartworm tested, and will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption. Her adoption fee is $300 and if interested you can access our application here: http://www.onetail.org/adoption/apply/
