Theo Poodle & Yorkshire Terrier Mix Taunton, MA

7/17 Update: Theo is ready for his new home! Theo went to Tufts for a re-check including x-rays and they said that he is fully healed and ready for his new home. He still will hold his leg up from time to time, but with continued leash walking it will decrease in frequency. Theo is a love bug with his foster family, but still very skittish and shy with strangers. He needs time to warm up to people visiting, Because of how shy he is we feel he would benefit from taking some training classes with his new family for socialization and to build confidence.

May Update: Theo continues to do well and is putting more weight on his leg everyday. He still has a fracture in one hip that is healing but we are very pleased with his progress. He has begun to play with toys and is always wagging his tail. He loves to go for walks and snuggle on the couch with you. He is well housetrained to go outside and isn't a barker. While he gets along okay with the other dogs in the house he would be fine as an only (and might prefer to be one) and would love his new family to be home to spend lots of time with him.



Help Needed! We were contacted by the MSPCA about a 1 year old Yorkie Mix (but honestly we are not sure if there is any Yorkie but we do know he is just adorable) who was hit by a car and was suffering with two broken pelvic bones. The poor little guy is in a lot of pain and needs immediate surgery. Of course Yorkies Inc said we would take him and plans were made to transfer him to tufts. While setting up plans to pick up Theo we were sent a picture of him, and while we do not see a whole lot of Yorkie we couldn't turn our backs on a pup that needed us and we hope all our Yorkies Inc friends will do the same! Please consider making a donation to help cover Theo's expensive vetting bills. We have received an estimate of $5000, with it possibly being more once they begin surgery. Please keep Theo in your thoughts for a smooth successful surgery.

Update 3/19/2017: Theo has had his surgery and the surgeon felt that it went very well. He is now in foster care getting all the love and attention he needs while he recovers. Please continue to keep him in your thoughts for a speedy and successful recovery. Thank you!

3/26/17 Update: Theo went to Tufts for a recheck and they feel he is doing very well. He now just needs to begin to put more pressure on his leg. Theo will also need some work on socialization to get over him being worried about strange noises, people and situations. We feel this is probably due to his trauma of being hit by a car and then being moved a few times until he was able to settle into his foster home to recover. He is very bonded with his foster family but takes time to warm up to new people which is to be expected with all he has been through.
