Meet ALBERT
AGE: 9 - 11 years
DESCRIPTION: Snowshoe/DSH MIX
LOCATION: Foster Home
Albert and 23 other kitties were rescued from a terrible hoarding situation. It wasn't good to begin with, but when the owner was hospitalized it went from bad to worse when the electricity was turned off during the coldest part of the winter. The house the kitties lived in was full of dirt, feces, and urine with not one clean spot for them to sit, stand, or lay on. Their food bowls sat on top of 6" of feces and the water in their bowls was frozen.
Albert had a terrible upper respiratory infection (URI), a watery eye, and badly matted fur when he was rescued. Although his URI has cleared up, his eye is still a little watery (and may always be because of the situation he came from) but is easily treated by a quick wipe. His foster mom says he's VERY affectionate once he's settled in to his home and will stake out any open lap for attention. He's also very content just to lay on his humans while they work on the computer or play video games. Albert has come a long way in his exchanges with children - he used to be a bit "nippy" but work by his foster family has helped that immensely.
Albert can be a bit "bossy" with other kitties initially but does well with them when they become familiar. He likes to stick his tongue out when relaxing (see picture) and likes to be close to his humans. He is truly a beautiful guy, but unfortunately is the least photogenic of any kitty we've ever had. Pictures don't ever seem to show his blue eyes or his raccoon striped tail or a face that is hard not to fall in love with....
Inside-only home and must keep claws. The adoption fee for this kitty is $100. Adopt a pair of kitties for $150. Each cat and kitten has been: altered (spayed/neutered), vaccinated (age-appropriate) - rabies and distemper combo, microchipped, tested for FeLV (negative unless previously noted), and treated for fleas, ear mites, and worms.
We ask that interested parties fill out a cat adoption questionnaire. Please fill out the questionnaire only if you are seriously considering adopting this sweet kitty. You can get the application by going to our website at http://www.panora.org/PETS/index_files/adopt.htm and clicking on the Cat Adoption Questionnaire button at the top of the page or by clicking the "Adopt Me" button on this profile and asking for the questionnaire. Once you have submitted the questionnaire, an adoption coordinator will contact you with 24 hours. Thank you for your interest in this kitty. Please note: Upon approval of the adoption questionnaire, we may request a home visit prior to completing the adoption.
Panora P.E.T.S. supports the "Paws Need Claws" Campaign. Cats are rather attached to their claws; please do not de-claw your cats.
