**We would love to talk to you about Takashi or any of our other available dogs but we first need everyone to go to our website and submit an adoption application.

Health: Within days of being surrendered to rescue, Takashi had to undergo surgery for calcium oxalate bladder stones. Since this type of stone can recur, he will need someone committed to having him rechecked on a regular basis. Takashi is up to date on his vaccinations but does take medication for a heart murmur.

Takashi’s story: Takashi was surrendered by a loving family who were no longer able to ensure he had the medical care he needed and knew rescue would be in his best interest.

My Ideal Home: Takashi is a shy boy and will benefit from a home that offers a quiet environment. Since he will not eat the prescription diet that would help prevent the stones recurring, he needs his own chef who will prepare the home cooked food he has been eating. Due to his shyness, Takashi is likely to be most comfortable in his own home rather than being interested in going on walks or other activities that take him outside of his "comfort zone.

Adoption Process: To adopt a Chin from JCCARE, start by filling out the application found on our website at www.japanesechinrescue.org. The application is under the Forms menu.

If you aren’t ready to adopt yet but would like to help this dog, please click on the purple SPONSOR ME button above the name. Your donation will help us to pay for the care of this dog until he/she finds a furever home.

JCCARE also maintains the lives of many senior and special needs Chin in our “Sanctuary” program. These dogs are not listed on Petfinder, as their health issues make them unlikely to ever be adopted. If you are a lover of the breed, could you please consider sponsoring one of our seniors? You can find their pictures and stories under OUR CHIN on our web site: www.japanesechinrescue.org
