Meet Princess

Princess – words to describe her? Loving, Lap Cat, Lazy, Chubby, Adorable, Snuggly, Furry, and all-around Awesome.

Princess is an easy-going quiet cat whose favorite thing in life is a warm lap to sit on. It seems like she spends much of her time quietly waiting for anyone to sit down so that she can go and snuggle in their lap. Her dream scenario is to be adopted by someone who is housebound or maybe on complete bed rest, so that she could sit on a lap all day every day! She would then only get up to eat her favorite canned food; although some dry food would suffice. Realizing she likely will not find an adopter who is completely homebound; Princess would be happy to be adopted by any family whose members are willing to spend at least some time each day relaxing with her warm furry body cozied up next to them. Keep in mind that Princess does not discriminate based on size, gender, or age of the lap on which she will sit. Calm children will do just fine.

We used to think that Princess would not do well in a home with other animals. She’s currently fostered in a home with three dogs and five cats and does very well. She is more than happy to navigate all of the other cats and dogs to find a warm lap. She likely will not become best friends with a cat or a dog in a household; but would be perfectly fine in a home with a low-key cat or dog, particularly given a proper introduction.

Princess’ current foster family loves her very much. However, the only thing they want is for her to live her happiest life. And it’s obvious that her happiest life can be lived in a home with less competition for attention and lap space.

Princess has been available for adoption for an astonishing two years. Although she’s 12 years old, she recently had her annual exam along with bloodwork and a urinalysis and she is perfectly healthy. Last year we were a bit concerned with her chubby body, but she has managed to lose 1 pound since her exam in 2018. We’ve told her how proud we are of her commitment to health and fitness.

The ideal home for Princess, which is what we really want for her, has adults and/or children of any age who are willing to spend a good amount of time chilling out with her - who are cool with a calm, chill lap cat who is not interested in chasing laser pointers or feather wands. The ideal home may or may not have a low-key dog or cat already residing there. The perfect home would also commit to taking princess to the vet annually for her exam and blood work. As one would with any cat, her owner would take her to the vet more often as she gets older.
