Sampson--I'm a "Good Dog, Forever Dog!" Pit Bull Terrier & Labrador Retriever Mix Chicago, IL

This handsome doe-eyed guy is Sampson, and at about 9 months of age, he had missed out on some early socialization when he first joined our rescue but has just completed a training program, is thriving in his foster home, and ready to find his forever humans!

Sampson loves people and dogs! He shares his foster home with two senior dogs and he loves to wrestle and play with them. Sometimes he gets a little vocal when he wants to play and his foster siblings don’t, but he can be redirected with a toy or by leading him out of the room. When he meets, or sees new people, he wiggles around everywhere with excitement! He also loves to cuddle!

He is very smart and is eager to learn new things! He is crate trained, housebroken and knows sit, down, paw, leave-it and place.

Although Sampson is a very loving dog, he can be a bit mouthy especially when he is overly tired or doesn’t get his way. It can be a challenge to redirect him when he is mouthy, but it’s entirely possible with patience and persistence.

Sampson isn’t a couch potato. He is very active and would do well with a forever family who will take him running, hiking or even to a frisbee class. Even though he does have a lot of energy, he isn’t a morning dog and likes to take his time waking up and getting out of bed.

We are looking for an adult home for Sampson where this adolescent guy with so many great qualities can continue to receive the training and support that will help him blossom into the wonderful adult dog he is capable of becoming.

Samson is part of our "Good Dog, Forever Dog" program and as such come with a sponsored adoption fee, all the supplies they need to succeed, a "foster to adopt" period, and lifetime of free training support.
