Mocha was abandoned in a house by her former owner. A neighbor reported the situation to the local animal control and a shelter volunteer made sure she found safety that day. Her sweet nature captured the hearts of shelter volunteers and staff.

Mocha has such a gentle way about her and loves all people. She loves her toys so much, that she would prefer to be in a separate room while she is playing with them. However, she is completely fine with other dogs. She walked beautifully as a shelter ambassador in the city Christmas parade with multiple dogs in the lineup, and she has always been friendly with dogs outside of the shelter.

Mocha is approximately eight years old; she loves riding in the car, walking with her person, her very own toys, and cushy-soft blankets. Her favorite place inside the shelter was the second shelf in the laundry room where all the soft blankets were stored. This precious girl has known difficult times and so deserves a forever home of her own with someone who is committed to her.

Unless otherwise indicated, all Double Dog Rescue dogs have received the following before being available for adoption:

Thorough veterinary examination

All routine annual vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLPP, Bordatella (kennel cough), Heartworm Test, Fecal Test, Deworming

Spay/Neuter

All dogs are quarantined for two weeks outside of the shelter (puppies four weeks) to ensure they don't break with disease.

VETTING NOTE: Double Dog Rescue completely vets our dogs thoroughly to the best of our knowledge based on communication with our Southern Vets. If anything is brought to our attention, we treat the dog. After adopting the dog, you will be responsible for following up with all vetting going forward.

HEARTWORM NOTE: Dogs who were treated for Heartworm can test positive up to 4-6 months after last treatment. All dogs are immediately put on Heartguard/Ivermectin following the treatment to kill the Heartworm larvae. All dogs should be re-tested after 5-6 months from the last Heartworm treatment.
