Tex Shepherd & Retriever Mix Minneapolis, MN

Howdy, I’m Tex! My foster mom says I’m the best dog she’s ever seen. She calls me a good boy a lot when I do things like sit, high-five, lie down, and play dead. She taught me to do all of those things in 1 week! I’m a really smart guy I guess. I also always go to the bathroom outside and I even tell my foster mom when I need to go with a couple of whines. She’s never heard me bark before. I’m not sure I know how to bark to be honest. But I always greet her when she comes home with big “Yipees!” and tell her all about my day. I also LOVE my crate. I prefer to sleep in there, but don’t get me wrong, I LOVE to cuddle too. It’s my all time favorite thing in the world. I still think I’m a lap dog even though I’m a little bigger than I used to be. I love to play with other dogs too and I’m really gentle with all of them (even if they’re not so gentle with me). I also love going for walks and I walk really well on the leash. I realized that pulling doesn’t get me anywhere faster, so I don’t do that. Yup. I guess I’m pretty perfect. I’d love a family of my own. If you’re looking for the sweetest, smartest, cutest, easiest dog around, pick me!

Tex is estimated to be 8 months old and 36 lbs.Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed and size when grown.

All dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.
