Meet Bronwyn Bruntley- ADOPTED!

NAME: Bronwyn Bruntley

(part of the Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children litter)

AGE/GENDER: Baby (born 10/30/16), Female

Ready to go home TODAY!

BREED: Guestimated to be Australian Cattle Dog mix

TEMPERAMENT: Playful and mischievous
WEIGHT: 8 lbs and growing (mother is approximately 40 lbs)
HOUSE TRAINING: Getting there, but she is a baby so she'll need a consistent schedule with multiple opportunities daily to go outside while she works on it. Puppies should not be considered reliable in regard to housetraining until 6-12 months of age. They're a lot like toddlers, who require diapers!
CRATE TRAINING: Good, she's young and trainable!
OTHER DOGS: Good! She will need continued socialization, like all puppies!
CATS: Good! Continued socialization will be important!
CHILDREN: Dog-respectful children, 8 and older
ADOPTION DONATION: $450
HEALTH: Bronwyn has a Grade 1 intermittent heart murmur, however an echocardiogram was performed and the results showed that her heart is completely healthy. The vet believes that the murmur only occurs when Bronwyn is nervous or excited and does not expect any issues to develop as a result. A recheck is recommended in 6-12 months to confirm and rule out anything else. Bronwyn is spayed, microchipped, flea treated, and dewormed. Puppies are given vaccination boosters in our care; however, adoptive families will be responsible for the remaining vaccinations that puppies need. Your adoption donation goes toward the cost of this vet care as well as transportation and general care costs. In addition, all pets adopted from Motley Zoo come with 30 days of free pet insurance provided by Shelter Care.

HISTORY: Motley Zoo Animal Rescue was asked to find her a great forever family and that is exactly what we plan to do!

NOTES FROM FOSTER HOME:

"I believe she will be most comfortable in a home with an older dog (even just a year older) whom she can look up to as she is much more comfortable meeting new dogs and people when Ichiro (our older dog) is around. She absolutely adores Ichiro. She does annoy Ichiro a bit by jumping up and licking at his face, though.

- My dream home for Bronwyn : a home with an older dog who will take Bron to get lots of exercise and would enjoy a quirky and smart girl. I really hope her new home continues to put her in daycare. I think that is excellent socialization for her. Training classes would be good too, she *loves* clicker training.

- She's not scared of vacuums, garage doors opening, planes, pans dropping, or loud noises in general. She seems fine in the car and fine in new places. She *is* nervous initially around new people and sometimes other dogs, but seems to get over it fairly quickly, especially if we use the clicker and treat her and ask her to "sit". She shakes when she is scared and just really excited. Once she has hung out with a new human or dog for an hour or two she's totally fine with them.

- She’s an active girl! Loves to walk and is quite adventurous.

- Once she's comfortable with a human, she loves pettings and cuddles. She loves being held.

- She knows "sit", "stay", "go to bed". Is working on "shake" and "down". "

Bronwyn is a puppy so she's playful and has a lot of puppy energy! She is super cute and fun, but a lot of work. Her forever family should be committed to lots of training - obedience, housetraining, and socialization. This will ensure that Bronwyn grows into a confident, well behaved adult! Puppies' personalities are dependent on their environment, and the structure and training they are given, in addition to socialization. Their personalities continue to grow and be shaped by their new adoptive families. Puppy daycare and socialization classes or puppy kindergarten are highly recommended for their personal development. She will more than reward you for all your hard work with lots of love, loyalty, and laughs.

All dogs adopted from Motley Zoo come with a leash and either a Martingale collar or a harness, depending on each dog's particular needs.

Welcome to Motley Zoo Animal Rescue. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization that is run entirely by volunteers. Motley Zoo does not have a brick and mortar shelter location. Instead, all our rescue animals are cared for in private foster homes where the animals receive one-on-one care and attention in a home environment until permanent placement is found. Please email adopt@motleyzoo.org and request an adoption application and we will work toward approving you as an adopter with our rescue so that we can set a time for you to meet!

Thank you for considering adopting a dog in need!

Woof,

The Motley Zoo Crew
