Meet Cali
Dear potential forever family,
Hi, I’m Cali… an affectionate girl who loves to give cuddles and kisses. I’m a 20 pound, 4-year-old Poodle-Shih Tzu-Pug hybrid, which I think is an adorable combination of loveliness, however, I’m not gonna lie, I’m working on losing a few pounds. I am a bit shy at first meeting, but warm up rather quickly and seriously LOVE your attention. I’m gaining confidence every day, but still find myself getting insecure when I’m alone, so I’d be best with a family who is home more often than not. Being a friendly girl, I really enjoy having another dog buddy around to play with and no matter what, I will do best with an active family who likes the outdoors and will take me on regular walks, hikes, and outings to ensure I’m getting my needed exercise. I have good manners so bringing me out-and-about should be a lot of fun for everyone! My forever parent will also need to be an Alpha who is calm, yet assertive so I have boundaries, consistency, and guidance to help me thrive. I find it confusing otherwise and may try to protect you rather than being the fun-loving buddy I desire to be. I have already learned some of my basic training like “sit” and “leave it.” I’m still working on “stay,” which is a bit hard for me because I long to be by your side most of the time. I am crate trained and have been sleeping in a crate at night while at my foster mum’s house. I am about 90% potty-trained and hope to be fully accident-free soon. If you seek a constant companion who is sweet and cuddly, then I’d love to meet you to see if we’re a match for forever.
