Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.

Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.

It’s not until you share you heart with a senior dog that you can really know how much love you have to give, and to receive. Senior dogs teach us that time is the most precious resource there is. That is their gift to us.

This is Snow. No one but she knows her story, and like the lady that she is, she’s keeping that to herself. Snow was brought into rescue so matted that she had to be shaved. That’s why Snow looks a little bit different in these photos. But it’s just hair, and it’s growing back. Snow is a lover: she loves her Doxie-Yorkie foster brother, and would likely do well with a low-key dog friend to keep her company. She loves her foster mom and sticks close to her in the house. She loves to be talked to and petted. She loves her food. She loves rides in the car. She loves her crate. She loves to relax at home in a safe and nurturing environment.

But Snow isn’t for everyone. She is a senior and is on arthritis and other medications, which help her tremendously. Snow needs a low-key home with a special someone who will lavish love and attention on her. She’s had so little in her life, and she’s grateful for all of it. If that special someone is you, please contact us about Snow.
