Update 1/31: Nero has been neutered, so he is ready to go to his new home. He has also put some much needed weight on, and is feeling much better, like a different dog. His personality is much more outgoing now. He is no longer the shy Nero that came in over a month ago. Friends of Stark Pound, will donate $500 towards Nero's heartworm treatment. He needs you, so please, come in and spend time with Nero! Release date 12/24, Our new heartbreaker, Nero. Spend a little time with this gentle boy, and you will soon notice, it appears he has had a rough life. Being a stray, we don not know his history, was he neglected, a stray roaming for weeks, possibly months? We have no idea, but this guy is submissive, startles easily, slinks to the ground when you first approach him. But after a few minutes, Nero will relax and enjoy the attention he receives. He has been nothing short of a wonderful dog for us. Walks well on the leash, goes to and from his pen with no problems. Nero is at least 20lbs underweight, and if that wasn't bad enough, he tested positive for Heartworm. Please consider giving Nero the help he needs, by adopting him, and loving him! He is hoping there is a special person out there, that needs him! Please stop by today, and meet our adorable, and loveable, Nero! $99.00 fee (puppies under 6 months of age are $150.00) includes OH license, DA2PP, Bordetella vaccine, Heartworm testing, dewormer, and spay/neuter. Flea treatment will be provided if fleas are noticed. All dogs will be spayed/neutered and microchipped before leaving the facility. An e-collar may be purchased for $15.00. Because most of our dogs were picked up as strays, we have no knowledge of any behavior or health issues. Stray dogs are held for 72 hours before being placed for adoption.
