Meet Zoe

ZOEY IS BEING FOSTERED IN JACKSONVILLE FL

Zoey is a beautiful merle dane who is such a sweet girl all around, with humans, with other dogs, even with cats! She loves to be loved and loves to give love in return.

Although she is almost 8 years old, she is sharp as a tack and her nose is as good as a bloodhound's when it comes to food. The girl loves her food.. and she can figure out how to break into a pantry, into the trash, and on top of your counters if there's something tasty to be had. And we can't really blame her... She came into the rescue severely emaciated, with an eye growth, torn up elbows from lying on concrete or hard surfaces and licking at the raw spots. In the last two months in foster Care Zoe looks night and day better now. She’s gained much needed weight.
We had the growth removed from her eye and a small fatty tumor on her abdomen. She still likes to lick her elbows and scratch her eye, so you have to watch her - but it has healed very well.

She does deal with some separation anxiety but she’s not destructive left alone in the house - except she loves to find food! She can sneak into the food bin, pantry, trash can, etc. She would be better in a home with someone who is around more, or who has other dogs. Very lovable girl and definitely a velcro Dane.

Zoey is being fostered with two other female danes and is perfectly fine with both. She's previously lived with other dogs, big and small, even cats. As well as young children. She prefers the comfort of another dog. She needs to go to a family with another dog to be her companion while her humans are away.

She is crate trained and potty trained. All in all she's an excellent natured girl who deserves nothing but the best and it's a shame what she's had to endure.
