Daphne - fully vetted/free Boxer & Pit Bull Terrier Mix Shelbyville, IN

I originally met Daphne when she was picked up as a stray back in September of 2009! The call I received stated that for a week she ran up and down a country road and would not leave. Many times dogs won't leave the area especially if they were let out right there. The neighbors certainly didn't recognize the beautiful brindle Boxer/Pit mix. She came to the shelter and almost three months later got adopted by the most loving woman. She adored her new dog and we had hoped they would live happily everafter. Sadly, the loving woman had serious health issues and the family needed to find a home for Daphne. They brought her back to the place where she was loved first.....the Shelbyville/Shelby County Animal Shelter. Daphne certainly missed her owner and I know that the family promised their mother she would find the perfect home like Daphne originally had. Daphne went with the shelter staff and volunteers to Dog-a-palooza at the Drive in theatre and we thought we found a fit. Unfortunately she was returned two weeks ago because she and their dogs weren't getting along. At the age of six-and-a-half, Daphne is wonderful with children, cats, is housebroken, spayed, microchipped through AVID and easy on a leash. The shelter is looking for a home without dogs. If you want a chilled, easy demeanor and loving girl that could lose a pound or two, look no further! Even during our free days, Daphne was overlooked. Daphne would fit in with any family or house and has so much love to give.
