Mandy Newfoundland Dog Aurora, CO

This is Mandy, a 7-year-old, bronze Newfie. She has special needs and is looking for a special home. Mandy’s owner passed away and other family members are unable to care for her due to their own obligations. This sweet, submissive girl is leash trained and a couch potato. She loves liver treats and car rides and gets along with other dogs, cats and kids. She’s not a barker, digger or chewer. This girl has a lot of loyalty and love to give a home that understands, and will care for, her needs. You see, she was the runt of her litter and her jaw does not work well (can only open ½ inch), so she will need to have kibble that is very small or moistened to make it easier for her to eat. As the runt, she never grew very big (only about 70lbs), and she does have a sway back, though she is not on any meds other than a joint supplement (which is pretty darn good for this senior lady). She is also unable to “hold it” all day, so she will need a family that is home, either most of the day or is able to come home throughout the day, in order to let her out. If you have a heart for those who need a little extra love and are looking for a pocket sized Newfie, she is your girl. She may be small on the outside, but don’t let that fool you. Her heart is far, far bigger.
