Devo Whippet Mix Houston, TX

This sweet little girl came to K-9 Angels with a litter of puppies, now weaned & called The Band. Devo was a good Mom & is now ready to be a good fur-baby for some lucky family. She's about 25 pounds of graceful motion, runs like the wind, leaps crates in a single bound, and has an elegant posture. She's quite fashionable too: bl ack with white accents is always in style!

Devo taught herself how to use a dog door after seeing her two foster sisters disappear through the wall. Her foster mom had said there was no way for her to use the tiny door sized for the 8 & 12 pound resident dogs, but Devo just folds those long legs, ducks her head, & out she goes! She's as playful as a puppy and loves her foster sister Pepper, her fuzzy squeaky toy, and the fuzzy bear with the empty water bottle inside, in that order. Well, if Mom is offering lap time, that's the best, but if not then playtime is tops! She'd love to play with her smaller sister & has offered play several times, but the little one finds Devo too rough & intimidating.

She's an enthusiastic eater and creative about reaching food you thought was out of reach! She has allowed Pepper to share her dinner bowl so does not appear food aggressive, but she still tries pushing to get the first bowl at meal time. She sleeps well in her crate but will cry for a while first, wanting to be with Mom. When Mom goes to bed and chances of her letting Devo back out of the crate disappear, the crying stops. Her soulful eyes tell you she's a loving dog who will be a loyal companion and a fun addition to a human or canine family.

Devo is a Female Whippet Mix that we estimate to be born around August 1, 2015.





PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.

SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.

NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian.
