Meet Hera
In an effort to save more lives, HT is allowing expedited adoptions for certain animals if applicants bring required paperwork. You can bring your new family member home more quickly by bringing your current pets' vet records, a copy of your lease or landlord letter stating you are permitted to have pets, and photos of your home. Help us help you adopt more quickly!
If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out our dog adoption questionnaire and e-mail it to htarmiranda@gmail.com.

Majestic Hera is a stunning dog. She looks and behaves like a pure Rhodesian Ridgeback. She's very affectionate with and devoted to her foster family. She's extremely well trained and is house broken. She sits, stays and walks nicely on a leash. She's fine with strangers and strange dogs she passes while on a walk. This is a dog who loves HER people. She's cautious with strangers who come into her home, occasionally growling at them. But when the people she trusts make the introductions, the stranger gives her lots of treats, and lets her guide the interactions she warms up. Still, she's not a dog who likes to "horse around" with just anyone, only those she really trusts. She's good with older children, but since she resource guards toys it wouldn't be wise to place her in a home with young children. She accepts the other dogs in her foster home but isn't that interested in them. She's too interested in the family's cats, so she needs to be placed in a cat free home. She especially enjoys going on walks. While she never seems to get tired, she's not demanding of our attention. Hera's puppies have all been adopted so she's ready now for her own home.
