Meet Tidbit

Hey everyone! My name is Tidbit (because I am a tiny little morsel). Weighing in at 5 pounds, you could carry me in your pocket. I am 6 months old, just a pup and full of life. I love my people and get up on my hind legs to greet them. Because I am a baby, I am not entirely housetrained yet. If you take me outside at the right time, I will be happy to do my business there but I get cold fast and I don't like to be on a leash. I would much rather be carried and I will beg to be picked up. The good news is that even though I am not completely housetrained, I am a master at using a pee pad.
I am a typical Chihuahua in that I am happiest cuddled up in my little dog bed with lots of blankets. I like other dogs, large and small and would be no threat to an average sized cat. My foster mother finds me very similar to a kitten with the exception of the loud singing that I do from time to time. Did I mention that I can imitate a coyote?
More than anything I would like a home of my own with someone who will spoil me rotten. Unfortunately, I was born with a severe heart defect. My life span may be short so I want to fill it with lots of love and happy times. I like to play but my play periods are short. I get winded quickly. If you would like a tiny bundle of love to cuddle with in the cooler days of autumn, I would love to oblige.
I am scheduled for heart surgery on November 1st. My future will still be uncertain but I am thankful that I am getting the best chance. Surgery is expensive so my friends at Broken Tail Rescue are doing their best to raise the needed funds. If you can't adopt me , maybe you would like to contribute to my surgery fund? I would be so very grateful. I won't be available for adoption until after my surgery but the thought of a family of my own and people rooting for me will help me make it through the hard times. It is not the quantity of years that matter, it is the quality of those years. Let's make the best of the time I have. Come and love me!

NOTE: Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label
