Meet Scarlett

Though near death after three days of labor when her owner released her to ELPO, an emergency c-section saved her life. She overcame this difficult bginning to be an amazing dog. In play groups, she is the consummate leader begging, "Come on! Get up and chase me!" "Come on! Let's tussle." She sometimes holds her hind leg up while running, but it doesn't slow down this tough little dog. She loves playing and other dogs but as dainty as she is, might be best with small dogs.

We are located inside of East Lake Veterinary Hospital at 10101 E. Northwest Hwy in Dallas (just north of White Rock Lake, or just east of the Northwest Highway/Audelia intersection).

The first step in adopting would be to come by our facility to meet our dogs and puppies in person to see if the animal that you are interested in is a good match for you, after all, a very large part of the adoption process is based on finding the right chemistry. There are a lot of good people, and a lot of good animals, but that doesn't mean that they automatically go together and selecting the right animal for your particular household is a very personal decision.

After meeting with our orphans, if you find an animal that you feel is right for your family, you will then need to fill out an adoption application. After submission of an adoption application, the animal is placed on hold until 5 pm on the following business day (processing of an adoption application can take up to two business days). Once an adoption is approved, there is an adoption agreement to be filled out and a goody bag for us to review before sending any of the orphans home.

The adoption donation for canines is $165.00 (there is a $20 discount on the total donation if you adopt two or more orphans at the same time). The adoption donation includes: Spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccinations, deworming treatments, microchipping/microchip registration, and flea/heartworm preventative up to the point of adoption.
In the first 30 days after adoption we offer a free physical examination, nutritional assessment and wellness consultation to help make sure that the new adoptee has the best start in life in their new home. For those adopting puppies or kittens, they also get a 20% discount on vaccines to get them through their first year of life.

Additional questions about the adoption process, or an orphan listed on our website, can be directed to us by email at elpo@welovepets.net or by phone at 214-349-ELPO (3576) or 214-342-3100. Adoptee information is updated several times each week, though we recommend calling before you visit to confirm availability of any animal you might be interested in.
