Hello! My K-9 Angels name is Truman, but my foster parents call me “Rob Lowe” because I’m such a pretty boy! What do you think? Am I pretty or handsome? Please say handsome, because I’m a BOY!

Life in my foster home is pretty great. I have my own crate and toys and yummy food and a backyard – it’s SO much better than that scary shelter place I used to stay at. I’m not sure how I ended up there, but I’m super happy I don’t have to go back there! Right now I’m the only puppy at my foster home, but sometimes other puppies come to stay for a while, and I love, love, love to play with them! We wrestle and play tug-of-war. We even sleep together! I love other puppies and doggies. My foster family also has four older dogs, some of whom are kind of grouchy, so I usually steer clear of them – except the big German Shepherd. She likes it when I snuggle with her, and I like it, too!

My crate is my sanctuary. I stay in it during the day when my foster parents are at work, and I will go in there on my own to lie down when I need to rest. Sometimes the other foster puppy and I stay in the same big crate, and we like to curl up together there. The recliners in the house are super comfy, too, and I like to stretch out on one of those. And if there’s a lap to curl up on during TV time, I’m on it!

I’m working on my house manners and am making great strides in using the doggy door to go outside to do my business. I am just a puppy, though, so sometimes I forget. I’m getting better about holding it while I’m confined to my crate, but sometimes there are accidents – as I get older, the accidents will stop. Until then I still rely on foster mom to let me out of the crate every couple of hours; or, when I’m roaming the house freely, she needs to remind me from time to time that it’s time to go outside.

I’m a quiet, curious little guy who likes to check things out. Playing with my stuffed toys and chewing on antlers keep me happily occupied when I’m alone. I don’t bark much at all. And when I hear loud noises or noises I don’t recognize, I run to my crate or under a chair until it stops. It’s a big new world out there, and it can be scary at times! I know when my forever family finds me, though, I’ll never have to be afraid again. The day they find me will be the happiest day of my life!

PUPPIES: Young puppies that have not had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center for our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application on our website http://www.k-9angelsrescue.org/adoption_process_k-9_angels_rescue.html. If your application is approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.

OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come to Houston to get the dog and take the dog home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted and altered.

SPAY/NEUTER: As we believe proper healthcare of one’s pet is a requirement of good ownership K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted. If the dog being adopted is not already altered at the time of their adoption, the dog will be altered within 2 weeks of adoption at our vet at our cost, with the exception of puppies which will be altered as soon as the puppy is ready.

NOTE: All dogs are officially the property of K-9 Angels Rescue until they are altered by our veterinarian.
