Meet Bridgette

My name is Bridgette. The vet says I am about 9-10 years old. I weigh 15 lbs. I was found under a bridge in the eastern part of NC. Covered in ticks and fleas, I was sick with nasty intestinal issues, too – probably from eating dirt and drinking polluted water. My hair is finally starting to grow out – I had scratched and chewed so much due to the fleas I was covered with when I was found.

I am so happy now that I have a decent diet and clean water and am free of ticks and fleas! I am still a little standoffish because of being on my own for so long, but once I get to know you, I am very loving and will bask in all of the attention that you’ll want to give to me. I am fine with other dogs – even bigger ones that need to be put in their place!

I am house trained if allowed to go outside fairly frequently. My foster mom doesn’t crate me during the day and, most of the time, I will use the newspapers she has left for me. I do play and get very excited when my foster mom comes home from work! And I listen to her when I am outside, even if I am not on the leash.

I am blind now but this doesn't slow me down, once I figure out my surroundings. I’m just a blind senior citizen who is looking for a laid back forever home. I would prefer a home without small children as I’m old and set in my ways.
