Meet Benny

Meet Benny! Benny is a 7 year old pug/beagle mix that comes in at a low-riding 22lbs. He is a ball of fun and energy when you want him to be, but most of the time, he is content to lay at your feet and snore away the day or night.

Benny is house trained and walks wonderfully on leash. He also loves playing fetch and tug of war. He is very much a fun-loving dog. His favorite thing to do when he is relaxed is just roll on his back and play with his toys that way. Benny has provided his foster family with lots of laughs. He has also provided them with lots of cuddles on some of the colder days.

He would love to find a forever home that is relatively quiet, with someone who understands that he is a slightly stubborn dog who doesn't like to be startled and will take time to warm up to people. Benny will really benefit from training and reinforcement of his good behaviors. He already knows how to sit and is very play and food motivated. He wants to please but just needs you to be patient.

Benny is in a foster home with 3 dogs right now and should be okay with other dogs if introduced properly. Benny will not do well in a busy household as he takes times to warm up to strangers. He prefers women but has been fine with his foster dad. He has not been introduced to cats.

Benny is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. He is the perfect package- healthy, smart, funny, and handsome!

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
