Meet Roy

OUR BOY ROY! Big, handsome, purebred, tri-colored American Foxhound is a rollicking, fun-loving guy with deep russet coloring on his head & a sleek black & white body. Roy came to MLAR with a wonderfully sweet disposition, but with an obvious lack of human contact. What a difference the attention of staff & volunteers has made! Roy is attending our Petiquette School & has learned to sit and stay (wait) on command when you hold up a treat or offer him a ball, & he now comes to you when called. He is currently working on additional commands. Roy is not hard to leash walk, is extremely well housebroken, keeps a clean cage, & takes care of business as soon as he gets into the yard. Best of all, Roy has become more interactive with people and likes to have his ears scratched. He has learned the joys of playing He’s always eager to play fetch the ball in the yard, which he does over & over, and & he and will bring the ball back in your vicinity. He really appreciates having a nice big yard. Once he gets tired, he comes bounding up to you with that beautiful canter, tail a-wag, & responds to a good head rub & kisses on his snoot. He does well in busy, active environments and would love to jump in your car or pickup truck and go for a ride. We can only imagine how this big sweetie will continue to progress once he gets into a home where a family will love & appreciate his handsome & very even-tempered selfIf you are interested in meeting any of our adoptable dogs, please fill out an application.
