Meet Lola **Special Needs**

Arrival story: Lola is part of our Owner Surrender program which means she will continue to live with her owner until she is adopted. Lola's owner feels that Lola would do best in a home where she gets more attention.

Approximate age / weight: Lola is 1 year old and 60 lbs.

**Special Needs:
Updated 10-28-2016: Our sweet Lola suffered an injury to her right eye and as a result of the trauma, Glaucoma developed and she is blind in that eye. To alleviate the pressure of fluid buildup and discomfort for Lola, we are in the process of scheduling the removal of her right eye. Lola is a young, healthy dog otherwise and we anticipate our bubbly girl will adjust very well after surgery.

Note: A test was run to confirm whether the Glaucoma was due to injury or an inherited risk. It was confirmed that the Glaucoma is NOT hereditary so Lola's left eye is healthy.

Personality: Lola is an uber sweet, friendly and playful girl. Her smile is infectious! If you are an active person who would love to hike or do some backyard agility this girl may be the perfect addition to the family.

Lola enjoys a good romp around the yard, knows some basic commands (she’d like to learn more), is crate-trained, has nice house manners and is food motivated. She loves to gnaw on a bone or other durable toys but save your money and leave the plush toys at the store, she’ll just destroy them ? Lola gets along well with other dogs but she is no fan of cats.

Forever Home: Lola would do best with an active person/couple/family that enjoys the outdoors. Like most dogs, she isn’t fond of being alone for long periods of time so a home with people who are home more often than not is ideal. She’s do best with a fenced in yard to run and romp in safety.
