Meet Dirk
Dirk may very well be our smartest kitty currently at the Animal Refuge Center and there's no doubt about it, he has loads of potential for training. The main reason is that for this one and half year old, everything is about food. Food, food, food and he'll do almost anything to get a bite of whatever it is you are snacking on.
Dirk can often be seen wrestling with some of the other male cats here at ARC and watching them play together is always entertaining. In fact this handsome black kitty is very social with the other cats at the shelter and doesn't mind the dogs one bit. Over the last couple of months Dirk has been trying a new tactic to land him his forever home and that is to just jump into any vehicle he can at the shelter and hope whoever's inside doesn't notice him until they get home.
Dirk loves smooching and rubbing faces and like a flash and often before you know it, he'll gentle jump into your arms or sit on your lap. Dirk makes very good first impressions and combined with his cute face he becomes almost irresistible! Dirk is looking for a home with children or a cat/dog that he can play with. It's hard to believe Dirk is still at the Animal Refuge Center because as cool as he is and as hard as he tries he should of found a home months ago. Stop by and see one of the sweetest boys around, but don't wait too long he's planning on greeting everyone who visits, until he lands his forever home.
Adoption Fees: $60 for Cats, $85 for Dogs
All our pets are spayed, neutered, and up-to-date on all shots. Our dogs have been tested and are presently on Heartworm prevention. The Animal Refuge Center has these and many more pets waiting for a good home. Note: The Animal Refuge Center has a "No-Declaw" policy. Our cats are too old to be declawed without risk of serious behavioral problems.
