Meet Jackson (was Jack,Jr)

Jackson was one of 4 doxie mix pups who resided with us briefly before going into their adoptive homes. Jackson's short term adoption ended when he proved to have two speeds, fast and faster. His owner had health issues which prevented him from having the needed speed and environment to stay ahead of this long legged pup especially near an opening door. Concerned about his ability to keep Jackson safe, he elected to return him. Jackson will need an adopter capable of keeping him from bolting through open doors (unless exiting into a fenced yard) and also to keep him safe when outside if he is to be exercised via leash walking. Jack has done a community outreach visit to a nursing home where his enthusiasm brought many smiles. He has also a proven to be a great hiking companion and will happily strut his stuff in a parade. Though he is uber energetic at the shelter, he is excellent on a leash once he is away from it and on the move. He also travels well in a crate. He loves activities that include other dogs and is full of kisses for everything in his path. When out among mountains,, streams and people he is not afraid of any situation or noise, and his tail never stops. He is longing for that day when the trip away from the shelter will not result in a return to his lonely cot.
